A most popular event in the past few years, the open days offer individual tourists the chance to visit some of the fortified buildings of the regional territory.
Several ancient manors will open their gates and revive the magic of their past, with their crenellated walls, fresco-painted interiors, the memories of their ancestors and lush gardens. Guided tours will be coupled with a few collateral events in some of the castles.
The new entry of this year will be the Old Castle of Duino, which will be opened again to visitors after 25 years.

FAR EAST FILM – FROM APRIL 23 TO MAY 1
Udine
The much expected festival organized by the Centro Espressioni Cinematografiche of Udine to scan the visual space and styles of the Far East movie industry will start on April 23 to last nine days. 60 movies from China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan are scheduled in the 2010 edition.
The festival includes a rich and variegated programme, a perfect mix of past and present movies, between previews, cult movies, revivals, meetings with guests (actors, directors, stars), as well as the great retrospectives about the glorious Shin-Toho – who is for the Japanese movie industry what Roger Corman’s factory is for the US – and about Patrick Lung Kong, who inspired A Better Tomorrow, the masterpiece by John Woo (Leone d’oro 2010).

For the lovers of sports, a meeting with the marathon
BAVISELA 2010 – MAY 2 IN TRIESTE
The whole city will party, with athletes and tourists coming from all over Italy and abroad, with a number of events for children and adults, as well as meetings for different sports activities, a large trade show with stalls aligned at a few steps from the sea, and entertainment, music… but above all, one of the most popular marathons in Europe.
A few days before Sunday, the great Bavisela Sport Expo will be organized along the seafront to accommodate the booths of several manufacturers and sellers of sports apparel, food stalls for all the participants and desks for the promotion of local products.
The concerts of the BaviFestival and several other cultural events will complete the offer.
