The Trieste Karst
4 hour tour
The large Karst plateau stretches over the area around Trieste: it is characterised by an extremely bare nature, which is just as attractive due to its variety of landscapes and colours.
In this area there is an actual wine and food culture, allowing you to taste a mixture of Italian, Slovenian, Austrian and Hungarian flavours.
During this trip you can taste the local products of a famous Karst farm and appreciate the variety of colours and aromas.
To immediately immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the early nineteenth century, reach the area around Opicina on the historic "Tram de Opcina", from which you can enjoy a spectacular view on the town as a whole.
A tour of the Grotta Gigante - the largest tourist cave in the world - follows.
The trip ends with a tasting session of wine and typical products of the area at a farm in the Trieste Karst.
