A walk through small villages, artisan crafts and the wonderful nature of the Trieste Karst
4-5 hour tour
The plateau of the Karst is a wonderful mix of rolling hills and valleys with small villages of white stone dotted among the green. The Germina walk links the villages of Malchina and Ternova, passing through San Pelagio and Prepotto. A walk to get to know the Karst better, where artisan crafts flourish in the shadows of the houses and the trees.
Along the walk we stop at a local Vinery to taste the wines and local products.
After a short walk we reach the Botanical gardens in the town of Sgonico, in the province of Trieste. The gardens have a wide selection of the typical flora of the Karst, planted in their natural environment, purpose built in a dolina (one of the natural hollows which occur on the Karst).
At the end of our tour we return to Trieste.
